Welcome to our autumn newsletter
We are here now in this moment at this time.. a time of change - always.
A season of "in between". Between summer and winter, the humble autumn reminds us to reconnect to ourselves more precisely, more authentically, and in doing so, connect to the whole. Thich Nhat Hanh calls it interbeing, interconnectedness.
Beyond the idea of unity, it's an activity, an acknowledgment that what we think, say and do to each other, we do to ourselves. That there is no "other" nor is there a separation.
Looking deeply in, we can see the reflection and mergence of everything and everyone. When we truly learn to see ourselves in everyone and to see everyone in ourselves, we stop hating, harming, and blaming, and we return to our loving nature, that which nourishes, builds and grows.
As autumn leaves change colour, dry and fall gently from the tree we are invited again to be a bit more like the leaf.. to live with acceptance, contentment, humility.. to walk peacefully upon the earth, to build bridges, to take turns supporting each other, to sow seeds, to dance in the breeze, to create beauty and notice how nature all around us is merging with nature within our souls.
We are humbled and deeply touched by your love and support, care and empathy you give everyone at the studio and how we are all learning to be kinder and more aware of our body, mind, and spirit.
As we flow with the Autumn breeze and leaves towards winter, here are some Bodylight offerings to help refine and restore energy levels, and for a brighter, hopeful outlook.

Meditation through movement, breath, guided visualisation, and a sound healing journey.
With Edna and Osher

Offering the gift of serenity - Mindful movement & Sound Healing Journey
Through movement meditations, Quiet Qigong, nature inspired imagery, and gentle Yoga practices, we find a sense of calm, deep rest, peacefulness and acceptance.
Edna will lead the mindful movement and meditation.
Osher River Oriyah, a sound healer, will guide us into a pure space of harmonious being.
You'll be bathing in the soothing vibrations of Crystal Singing Bowls and Elfen/Koshi chimes, which will resonate with your whole body and mind, promoting inner peace and balance.
Followed by warm homemade Chai.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to Osher and Michael, who lost their house to a devastating fire last month.
It was an old house on Waiheke Island, and was not insured.
They've lost everything and are starting back from scratch, with resilience and a positive outlook

Mindful movement and nourishment for a healthy brain!
Wednesday 22nd April at 1:00-2:30

Brain gym, brain health, vagus nerve, memory enhancement... feed and exercise the brain!
In this 1.5 hours workshop, you'll learn about what makes our brain healthier, sharper, more alert, yet relaxed! We will teach brain exercises and talk about memory-making and recommended nutritional/feeding choices for brain health.
Edna had recently attended an informative and inspiring panel of discussion titled "Brain talk" which was organised by the NZ Neurological Foundation.
In this workshop Edna will impart with valuable insights and practical advise from the talk and incorporate knowledge and practices from the wisdom of Yoga, Qigong, Pilates and mindfulness.
Bodylight women's wellness day

Join Edna and Asho this June for a mind-body-soul empowerment workshop. Strengthen our connection to ourselves, fine-tune our expression of being alive, learn to play and practice with the Bodylight way more creatively.
In this 3 hours workshop you will connect with the wisdom of the changing body, and be guided by Edna and Asho, with the Bodylight method, to create a sadhana- a daily personal practice!

This weekend is for people of all ages and backgrounds who wish to learn and deepen their awareness of movement patterns while being nourished and gently encouraged to make positive changes in their life.
Set in the wonderful surroundings of Mana in the Coromandel, 120 hectares of native bush, waterfalls, walks, an organic farm, and ocean views.

Our children benefit hugely from improving mind-body awareness and connection.
Bodylight Kids and Teens classes are a unique fusion of Yoga, Pilates, and Mindfulness.
Using Yoga mats, props, and Pilates equipment, these classes are designed to enhance mind-body awareness, develop good posture/movement habits, stretch the body and relax the mind.
Kids: (Age 6-12)
Wednesdays 3:45 - 4:30 pm

Teens (Age 12-18)
Thursdays 5:15 - 6:15 pm

We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together, and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”
